Default Better Mouse Trap

Literally. I was in Ace Hardware and I found these new traps with a yellow plastic trigger that replaces the old style metal trigger. Placed two under the 911 in the garage 5 nights ago. So far caught 7 mice without a miss (miss defined as peanut butter eaten but trap doesn't spring). The old metal style seemed to miss more than half the time, plus this plastic trigger is much easier to set.

Getting close to storage season, thought it would be of interest.

Default one more improvement...

After years of experimenting...I have learned that one improvement is to glue the trap to the thin end of a scrap wood shingle.

That way you can place it further under a car or corner of the attic/garage without setting it off, and throw away the dead mouse without coming close to touching the remains. Also, they can't drag it away into a dark corner like they sometimes do with just the trap.

These critters can destroy our cars. I found dead mice and mice nests all over my '72 when I tore it down for restoration. Mice also chewed through areas of the wiring harness in my 993 - preventative measures are important for long hibernations.

I can't believe that many guys have mice issues..... I have zero issues. The down side is living with 14 cats.
