Default 1984 911 TARGA-Black Targa bar

I have been using several different rubber and other protectants on the top and roll bar since 1984.
What are some of the group using?

I have an 84 Targa with black bar. If you are talking about the outside I just wash it with car wash when washing the car. Then in-between I use quick detailer such as Sonus or Zaino. Also have used the new Turtle wax Ceramic spray and that works great as well. If you are talking about the inside trim I use 303.

GRIOTS RESPONSE:
Thank you for that information. I would use a product like the Best of Show Spray Wax or the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax. They will not add too much gloss but they will give you really good protection. The Ceramic will last much longer. Six months to a year. You just want to use a tiny amount on that surface. I hope this information was helpful.

I use the Green Griots as well. Forgot to mention that. Its not brain surgery. Its a satin finish that you keep clean like your paint. And protect or clean in-between washings with a quick detailer. Just don't use a paste type product that will leave streaks and residue

I have been using the rubber restorer that I use on the roof since 1984. Just rubbing the overspray on the bar.

I have a 1976 911S that I've restored three times. The first two restorations tried to get the roll bar close to original, with mat black finishes of different types. The last time, the paint guy went into a long diatribe about what he would do to "finally get it right"....I said screw it--paint it gloss black. Anytime I'm anywhere near Porschephiles I'm always told how good it looks and why didn't the factory do that the first time. Easy to clean, easy to keep looking new.
