Default "Genealogy" on my former CAL 911S (MJ76)

Greetings from Germany :-)

Earlier this year I purchased a 911S build in 1976 (FIN 9116202007) which was originally delivered to Culver City, LA (info from Porsche Germany). The car has no history, well no documented history... and I am looking for any further infos on it. It seems likely that the car was sold via "Competition Motors" (Porsche Germany was not able to identify the retailer).

Does anyway knwo whether Competition Motors was still active in 76 and whether it was the only Southern CAL Porsche retailer in this time?
In addition (but very unlikely), does anyway in the forum maybe "know" or owned the car? It has a rare colour (original colour code 514-9-3 = champagne metallic).

If you are interested please find attached the info I got from Porsche Germany (sorry, for the German incl. my language errors)

Thanks for your help
Matthias

Sorry, I don't have much to add to your investigations, but found a few good articles that at least place context on Culver City and Competition Motors:

Photos of Competition Motors: https://www.google.com/search?q=comp...+city&tbm=isch
History of Auto Racing in Culver City: https://www.culvercityhistoricalsoci...-racing-scene/
Apparently von Neumann sold Competition Motors to Porsche / VW in 1971: https://www.loveforporsche.com/john-von-neumann-2/

I don't know if Porsche used CM as an importation corporation nor how cars went to dealers from there. Someone will know.

Viel Glück.

Vielen Dank TheTorch!

Some very nice finds on CM/Culver City and its history. Looks like my car might then be importet/sold by Volkswagen/Porsche Pacific Inc. in 76...
Let's wait if others know more :-)
