Post Dim Headlights at Idle=Driving Me Insane

Ladies and Gentleman,

I just installed a rebuilt alterntor from Vertex a couple weeks ago and I just got back from getting a new big Interstate battery put in. Surprise! My headlights (and guage lights) are still slightly dim at idle. Is this normal? Please help I'm going crazy. Thanks.

Guys,

I've already replaced the alternator, the regulator, and the battery. Is there anything ELSE that could be causing the slight dim at idle or is this normal in the 911. Thanks.

Mine is the same Fassi, and I've also replaced the alternator, regulator and installed a new battery. Admittedly I wasn't chasing dim illumination - I just blew the lot in a reverse polarisation!
It has never bothered me tho'. At idle the head lights and dash lights dim a little. Once under way they light up a wee bit brighter. I just thought it was normal.
The wife's modern Nipponese nut bucket is the same. Have you asked your sparky his opinion?

Cheers,
Sean.
