Default rattle in door when window wound down

Hi All

Some tips/advice appreciated before I start ripping into the door panel......
My 1987 coupe has a rattle in the left hand door. If window is partially wound down the rattle is pronounced.
Possibly worn window guides?
Likely parts needed?
Pitfalls in doing the repair?

Thanks in advance
Cheers

I'm also interested in this. Mine doesn't rattle at all unless it is further than 2/3 up. I would like to convert to roll-up type windows.

I know what the rattle is in my door. A few months back when I rolled
down the driver's side window there was a loud crack. Nothing seems broken but something fell off and now rattles around in there. I did take the door panel off to look but it's very hard to see inside plus I don't know what I am looking for. Window still works fine..... but for how long?

i to have the rattle when the window is down. when it is up it is fine. when i looked in there the noise was the track. The wheels that go in the track after time get some play in them and let the window wiggle alittle. I am trying to come up with some idea how to fix. since it is winter and i dont really drive the car know i have not work on it that much.

I have the same problem. With the window partially down I get a rattle. All the way up or down and it is fine. Anybody know what it is?

My driver's window has been doing this for a few years, only when it is a third of the way down or less.

Default Jiggly Window

Wow, this must be a very common problem as my 84 Coupe has the same curse - when the passenger window is 1/2 down it wiggles and rattles, but all the way down or up it's fine. I really hope somebody catches this thread with an experienced answer and solve all our woes.

Same thing on my 86 Carrera. It rattles when the window is halfway or completed down. Sounds like a high-pitched tinkling, like pennies rattling in your pocket. WHAT IS IT????

take off your door panel and put your window down alittle. Look at the window track buy the back of the door and wiggle the window and you will see little wheels in the track. The wheel gets play in it and that is what causes the noise. I have not found a way to fix it yet but have not really tried. I will be in there in the nest couple of weeks and if i find a fix will post. If someone else finds a fix let me know
