Default Bubble Car - Literally

I am preparing to sell a car. I came here first to judge what the crowd is thinking. As indicated above, lots to say, LOL. Was a big user of this forum years ago. I have given up on most forums. Maybe I am giving up on my fellow man and the interactions on the web in general. As a life long car guy with most of that life time collecting, curating, restoring, racing, selling and driving my favorite cars that run the gamut of all makes and models (no ultra exclusive exotics and truly rich man stuff.) I have and still do enjoy the hobby and business. But the forums where I shared and learned about my passions has become like all social media, not very social?!?! But I still come here from time to time. My neighbors, wife and kids cannot give me what everyone on a car forum has over the years in knowledge, camaraderie and shared understood passions!

It could be me. And thats ok. My apologies to those I offend. Pretty sure what I will list on/in the classifieds will spark discussion for sure, as an early 2020 posting in The Samba did the same - a lot was negative, more out of jealousy?? The buyer was ecstatic and it was what he had been searching for. I just hunt, hold and store special cars that illicit strong emotions in me, as well as others because they are unique in rarity, originality and availability. Someone on here may want it. I know some will scoff and complain while others be reticent in their true emotion. I know I will hear from some for sure. PM me if you want to know further than the below details. Hope to have posted up by Sunday.

DOCUMENTED ONE OWNER 1986 911 CARRERA 28,080 miles. FULL RECEIPTS. One of the most original sorted cars I have ever experienced. ORIGINAL PAINT. ORIGINAL WORKING RADIO. WORKING AC. METEOR GREY METALLIC w/ BLK LEATHER. Family Heirloom since its purchase and treated as such. Has some Patina in the form of "garage overcrowding." bruises. Very Minor and part of its history. I refuse to paint or repair as it is only original once! Detailed and documented pics will be on site and additional links to photo-bucket or drop box. A legit 6 figure unmolested Carrera. I HATE BaT and will not subject myself to them any longer as a buyer or attempted seller. I like handshakes, conversations and healthy dialogue between adults and not the peanut gallery. I do this for fun and for profit.

Bubble Has not Burst for Aircooled 911's

Like I said lifetime car guy. Longtime member. Been playing with Ferrari's the last few years. Pretty involved on Fchat, but that is like most other forums. I read and don't post much anymore. Small Dallas Dealer with no real presence, just what my partner and I keep around. Has been Porsche's, 355 Ferrari's, Vettes and Z-28's these days. Or trucks, ambulances Benz's or others. Pretty Knowledgable Porsche Guy, but not an encyclopedia Brittanica or Wiki guy like some of you's. Cheers! -Rob aka Carnutdallas on most forums, but here.

Default Sold on Ebay

Well.... my hope for nearly 6 figures fell short. Could not list on here as not a subscribing dealer and not my personal car... But did list for upper 80’s on eBay and sold it for $72K on a quick sale. I think not being a G50 1987 hurt it by about $15k on high side, maybe $5k on low side. Selling price was about where my un-hyped wishful super high dollar sale should have been. Did not quite equal the Google inflation calculator which was $98k.

Enjoy your Air cooled Porsche’s fellas. All the best. Does this car sell for $130k in 30
more years??

still pretty good money i would say in this tough times for everything .. no point in worrying about 30 years time when we are likely dead.
Hopefully you buy something cool.

Thanks. I am building /having built this:

Current ride height

Ride height 4 years ago, might lower again?

425hp 3.5Ltr M30 Turbo motor. MegaSquirt Stand-alone Ice cold AC - 38* out the vents 😎

I have owned it off and on for past 9 years. Stupidly sold in 2015. Popped up on FB in January and bought it back. Started build in July. Hopefully driving by November if not sooner 😊

Very nice looking BMW build. I totally agree with you on the car forums trending more and more like social media junk. I have been active on car forums for over 20 years and in the last 5 years have really seen a decline in the overall quality of the conversations and etiquette. People constantly swear and engage in rude comments they would never say or do to your face. I believe we are all judged by how we write and speak- apparently that lesson has been lost on the young(er) crowd. They write in cryptic language and can't be bothered to proof read their post before posting. Sad really. I tend to just stop reading after a few sentences as I have to try to decipher what they are actually saying and it is not generally worth the energy. Best wishes. Michael

He showed my a Guards Red/Tan '87 Targa at his shop that he said was a very sound car mechanically, that the owner wanted to sell in the low $40's. I don't recall the mileage exactly but I think it was just over 100k. It needed some cosmetic TLC and there's not a better air-cooled tech around to do a PPI if someone is interested. It struck me as a very good deal for a G50 car.
My car is at his shop right now and he showed that same Targa to me as well. I thought it was a good deal, all things considered. If I hadn't recently purchased my SC project car, I would have very seriously considered that one.

G50 Targa for just over 40 sounds very decent if it checks out, i get most people want the coupe. i like the lines but i have to say it feels claustrophobic compared to the targa... guess you love em or hate them.
