Default Help. Engine will not release from transmission

1976 Euro 911 manual. I went by the book (101 projects) and can not get the engine off the transmission. Was thinking there should be more to removing the clutch or something besides the one little pin/screw inside the car. What am I missing? I removed the clip and clutch arm. I didn't have the omega lever. Any suggestions or questions? I'm all ears.

i dont understand .. are you trying to leave the transmission in the car and just remove the engine ?

the clutch fork is behind the throwout bearing so the clutch arm has to be removed completely if you didnt do that .. ( the arm in your first picture has to come off )

i just remove them both together and mess with the whole thing on the floor.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am trying to leave the transmission on the car. I did remove that clutch arm that is pictured. I took off the clip and that arm. In the other picture, I am showing that I removed the tiny screw on top off the gray/silver thing. I followed the steps in the 101 Projects for your Porsche 911 book.

I'm not sure what the clutch for is, or where it is. I didn't remove the clutch fork, just the arm. The picture shows what it looked like before I removed the arm.

the clutch fork is inside the bell housing.. and hooks into the release bearing. if you can find an exploded diagram it maht halp...

is the transmission not coming out at all our coming an inch then stopping. "

as you pull the transmission out the the cross arm should turn ..its hard to explain that's why i think you need an exploded diagram.

I don't know about later 911s like yours. But the real problem is, 101 Projects is not "the book". For almost all projects, that book gives you just enough information to get you interested, but so little information you probably will get into real trouble if you actually try to do it. Apparently, you have discovered that yourself.

as per above, drop the entire powertrain as a unit and separate on the floor - much easier

the SC Bentley manual will be helpful in the future

To each his own. I much prefer dropping the engine by itself...don’t need to disconnect the axles which is a pain the the a;@.
