Too much oil?
Okay, I think I may just have earned the dummy of the year award for this stunt.
I checked the oil and it seemed that it was low, so I added 2 quarts which seemed to bring it back. Now, the line off the air cleaner housing (1973 911T 2.4L MFI) That goes behind the engine (transmission side) Is leaking oil like crazy. Now, is this caused by my boner mistake of putting too much ol in the tamk? or, is it because of something else? This thing just pours oil once the car is warm and has been driven.
Thanks,
Scott Harris

When did you check your oil? Remember it should be checked with the engine running at operating temperature. You can verify operating temperature by checking if your remote cooler is getting hot (only if you have a front cooler). If you check oil level cold, it is certainly possible to come up with significant error, and with the engine off, forget about it. This has happened to many people before -- not sure how to get the excess oil out without getting it all over yourself.

On my '86 911--I get about 2-3 qts out if the sump when I change my oil and the remainder out of the oil tank. You might try just draining the sump if you think you might be two qts over. As said previously--check oil only when hot, on a level surface and with the engine idling. Good Luck.

Okay, so it sounds like I did the bonehead thing and overfilled the sump with oil. I'm going to drain the crankcase to try and stop the exhaust valve cover leak anyway. I put a set of turbo valve covers on with new gaskets, torqued them down per the torque spec and still they seem to leak at the transmission end. Anyone ever use Permatex on Porsche valve covers?
