2. Track the car. Do Driver's events with instruction. You want a black hole to get sucked into, tracking a car is far more satisfying an endeavor than mere street HP.

3. Enjoy the car. It is an analog timepiece in a digital age: embrace it. Understand that when an off-the-lot Camry can out-do an SC's acceleration off the line, it is time to look elsewhere for grins and giggles.

4. You ever been followed by a guy who wants to buy your car? Or someone yelling to you over moving traffic that your car "#!%& rocks!!!" ? How about a random guy knocking on your door saying he'll buy it (ok, I didn't like that last one ...prompted me to be more diligent about security!). It's rolling art: enjoy it!

No one mentioned changing a few gears in the gear box and lowering the gear ratio in 1 - 4 and then keep 5th stcok.

That avoids the smog issues and isnt as expensive as a 3.4 rebuild and is completely reversible if you decide to sell or want to go back to stock

Changing the gear ratios is like a kick in the pants.....done correctly. It allows more pull thru the modified gears....like from stop light to stop light. If you retain the top gear as it is your highway
drive remains the same.

gearing is a two edged sword, and w/ 911s no where near the issue it is on later cars w/ much taller EPA inspired gearing.

lower gearing dos improve acceleration but it also increase=s the frequency w/ which shifting is required unless the rev limit is also raised.

Here's a 3 way comparison of the thrust curves of a stock SC(blue), same motor but regeared trans(wheat) and lastly stock trans w/ a 993 nvr motor(red)

You get similar but less dramatic results from using shorter tires, which is wht 245/45-16 is better that 225/50-16 and why 245/40x15 is still better for acceleration
