SC short-throw?

Is there any sort of short-throw kit for the SC shifter?

There are a few different types out there. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages, skim through the last few days of posts and you should find a discussion about them.

I installed the factory short shift kit in my SC, and was very pleased with it. Good opportunity to renew the lower plastic cup the shifter base sits in, too.

I found the short shift kit to be a PITA. With a racing seat installed and strapped in with harnesses, it was all I could do to reach the damn thing, let alone shift gears.

I went back to the standard shifter and haven't looked back.

I asked my mechanic to install a short shift kit on my '81SC and he refused to do it. He said it was tougher on the tranny and just not a good idea. After arguing w/ him I finally gave in and stuck w/ the original. He mad a point of telling me that most of the short shifters he installs he ends up removing.

You still may want to try it out anyway. Additionally you may want to look into some of the gated shifters (WEVO for example). I've only heard good things about them.
