Chicagoland - NW Burbs / Barrington
I just moved up to the NW suburbs of Chicago and am looking for a good shop to service my '87 Carrera. Any members have recommendations? Also will be seeking a good indy shop for Mercedes.....

Call Perfect Power (http://perfectpowerinc.com/) which will be closer to you than heading into the city where a good alternative is Midwest (https://midwestperformancecars.com/porsche/). Midwest could probably also do your Mercedes (per the website).
I've used Perfect Power for all the work on my '89 and they have done a great job.

Rick and Peter Fisher are great although i do my own work on my cars. There are a few obsessed porsche guys here in town.
wifes benz goes to MW, Fisher works on them as well.
