Default Momo steering wheels

For those with a Momo Steering wheel, what are you using for your horn button? The embossed leather used by Singer on the Prototipo looks great but I'm sure it's not cheap.

Where is that button available, by chance?

Which Prototipo is Singer using? I have one with silver spokes but want to switch to black spokes. Vintage is my preference, but will likely go with a newer model for the moment.

There are a couple of sources of leather buttons that I'm aware of. There is Manuel Campuzano in Mexico. I lot of people buy his. He also makes custom wooden shift *****. I think he sells mainly off this thread on the Early S Registry: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...t=momo+leather.

There is also this seller on Pelican: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...plication.html

I have these links handy because I plan to buy one of them at some point.

I've been in touch with Manuel and his work looks fantastic. He makes the embossed leather cup along with custom horn bezel. Pricing is close to what a new Momo Prototipo runs. I'm sure Singer charges much more.

I have Manuel's leather covered button - the look is great; the fit is pretty close

You can also get various emblems on the plastic ones, including the guys in Poland.

r911 - did you buy just the leather cup or entire bezel?

IIRC, it was the cup only

by fit I mean that if you push it on the edge it may need to be moved around to seat correctly

They use a black Prototipo Heritage wheel: https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog...mowhel_pg2.htm

R911 - So you purchased the leather cup and placed it over the OEM Momo horn button?

Here is what my prototipo with the leather cap supplied by Manuel. I also used some 3M wrap to cover the black bezel in a silver-ish finish. Manuel was easy to deal with and supplies a good quality product (It is just the black leather part that you drop in, in place of the yellow MOMO logo'd part- as 911r mentioned). Overall very easy to do.

BTW, mine wasn't just leather - the leather had been bonded to a concave piece of plastic or something

good product

Yep, mine too. I think it was bonded to a metal, maybe brass, piece - honestly don't recall, but yes, bonded to something.
