1988 911 Resurrection Thread
I found an '88 with a very limited life history. The car is basically a one owner car who drove the crap out of it for 10 years then blew the engine. The car sat at a shop since the late 90's. Was then sold to someone who poached the engine, transmission and oil cooling system. So technically three people have had their hands on it, but only one user, the original owner.
My plan is to get it back together, mechanically restore it and drive it as is. The exterior is 100% original and actually in pretty great shape except for the paint. There is no rust and surprisingly no dings in the metal anywhere on the car. The rims have little to no curb rash also. I love the way it looks and will look even better once cleaned up and put back together.
I've since found a transmission and engine. The trans is stock and rebuilt. The engine is a whole 'nother animal.
William Knight led me to the engine which was local. He didn't build it but it's one of his engines.
It started as a 3.2 but now has a 3.6 bore and stroke. There is a dyno sheet he's going to send me that has the hp at over 360. This car will be a screaming sleeper.

Putting the engine and transmission in was easier than putting them together. I'll start making all the connections underneath this weekend. Hopefully turning the key soon. Still waiting on my calipers from PMB.
