Default G50 clutch replacement

Have any of you recently replaced your clutch? Which of the factory upgrades are worthwhile? I’ve got a 1988 with 74k miles and what I believe is still the original clutch that I’m looking to replace. What setup should I be considering and what should I expect to spend? I drive the car only about 1k miles/ year and never really push it

Definitely replace your original clutch with a spring centered unit and look into the clutch fork bushing upgrade, lots of
reading on the subject if you do a search here or on Pelican.
As far as pricing goes , i got the parts for my 89 from EBS , although that was a few years ago ... i'm sure others will chime in
with more recent suggestions for pricing,it's worth shopping around as there are many vendors !

That looks amazing! It's a little deeper than I'm wanting to go with this.

I think it only makes sense to do all the updates, that is what we are doing on my 87. 93,000 miles, original clutch. I forget all the pieces that are needed besides the clutch.. My RMS was seeping a little so it got an update too.

I was planning on doing the updates minus the drilling of the bell housing. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of quotes are you getting for that work?

Unless the shop has the factory tool you don’t want to drill the bell housing.
In the parts list i show there is a fork shaft kit made by rauch and speigel (sp?) that gets
rid of the super fragile needle bearings and uses a bushing.
May clutch was silky smooth after this
you can see the pics earlier in the thread with how the needle bearings destroyed
the fork shaft.
You want to use a spring loaded clutch as mentioned above. The original
rubber center cluch on my car was shot and cracking even tho disc material was ok

My engine was out for a rebuild so the labor is quite different from a straight up clutch job. I don’t have the breakdown yet.
