Default '87 Carrera taillight no workie

So I've checked all my lights, as I do periodically. Everything is good except for my left rear taillight. Brake light in the same bulb works, but taillight doesn't. Yes, I've replaced the bulb twice to make sure it's not the bulb. Any ideas? Seems very odd to me. Before I pull out the whole lens assembly, I thought I'd ask any of you electrical gurus first, to short circuit my time spent to fix it, no pun intended.

Thanks.
Kurt

Those cars have a lot of grounds for the lighting system , make sure the wiring is sound and solidly connected !

check the left front parking light, it is probably out as well. If so it is a fuse. The parking lights are fused left and right

These things need to be taken apart and meticulously cleaned every few years. Half *** cleaning won't work. Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the replies. Indeed the front parking light is out too. Hadn’t noticed that on my walk around. Will check the fuse.
