While I didn't install one before I sold my SC, I did talk to Craig Watkins at Smartracing Products, and he said that it would work with the Porsche short shift kit. I know several racers who have installed the kit, as, while pricey, it's alot less than a rebuild due to a missed shift.

I just installed a factory short shift kit,RoboTek,& a Stomski coupler on my 80SC. When installing the RoboTek with the factory short shift kit it is necessary to enlarge the opening on the side of the shift tower column. The new pin that holds the shifter is longer than the original,so the spring loaded bolt can put pressure on it.The purpose of the RoboTek is to spring load first & second gear like 5th & reverse on the other side.Removing & replacing the console is the hardest part. When assembling don't over tightnen the 22mm nut on the front of the tower,& don't allow to much pressure on the RoboTek bolt. The tranny shifts better with a little play. If you disconnect the shift coupler, mark the shaft at the end of the coupler. When reassembling the coupler put the shifter in neutral, rotate the coupler to the passenger side & make sure the shifter is straight up & down, then move the shifter to the drivers side, You can hold in place with a bungee attached to the drivers door. Then tighten the front of the coupler. I also replaced the ball cup bushing & the shift rod bushing. I believe the short shift kit & the Stomski made the biggest difference. The RoboTek basically prevents you from downshifting accidently to first or second gear. The cost of all three upgrades, including a new shift **** ( you will break the old one during removal) is about $700. Craig
