Two weeks ago driving into my garage my 1978 Porsche quit, refused to re-start. After much testing and reading I found
the Power comes from the battery to the CD box and on to the coil. Also the fuel pump quit working.
I checked the fuel pump and it works fine with a jump, I had good 12 volts to the CD box and it made noise but
I had NO power to the coil?? After two weeks of testing I gave up, put everything back to where it belongs but
before I put it on the trailer...tried it and it started right up...drove for several miles acts like never had a problem??
I really would like to know if anyone had a problem like this so I maybe could find the problem before I am a long
way to home
Thanks to all
Larry

Hi Larry. Welcome to Rennlist. I'll give this a shot since you haven't gotten any responses.

Items that come to mind are a failing CDI box, or perhaps the green trigger wire from the distributor to the CDI has an intermittent connection.

If you do a Google search (like "911SC no power to coil") you'll get a lot of hits. Also take a look at this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...nerator-2.html

Hope this helps, please keep us posted.
