Default Chin Spolier

Hi,

I'm looking for a chin spoiler for an 87 - 911. Any ideas where to get one for a reasonable price. Performance Products is about $400 + the hardware kit.

Thanks

Charles

Congrats.

I guess you'll be hoping for a sunny summer this year.

When & how are you getting it? Are you going to drive it from CO?

I see that the PO didn't have the chin spoiler. A definite no-no. I guess he liked it cause it was pretty . . .

Thanks for all of your help Ian.
It's being shipped via covered buggy. Hopefully it will arrive late next week. I'll take some pics and post them.

Ya, my 86 had a chin spoiler and I like the look of it.
I think I'll be putting on a Momo Corse wheel and an aftermarket muffler with dual outlets in the near future.

Geeeeeeeeez............here I go again!!

I'll be going to Hilton Head in March to see my folks.........possibly the weather will be nice enough for a good run. If not it'll just sit and get modded and waxed.

Thanks again Ian..........your the best!!

Shipping it?

Where's your sense of adventure. It would be cool blasting across the frozen prairie in a Cab in February . . . well . . . maybe not.

I'm trying to hold off buying until the weather improves, so I can drive. I have a border to transit with the vehicle & that complicates things immensely. I'm also running into states that insist on charging sales tax & will not waive for a temporary drive out. CT is a case in point & FL too. And I'd have a fat chance getting Ontario to waive because I'd paid at the origin. Oh well. Enjoy yours.

Adventure!!

my wife would think I was crazy!
I didn't see to many P-cars when I lived in T.O.

I know what you mean about PST & GST.........I'm trying to sell my wifes BMW to a guy in Calgary...........he basically gave up on the deal because of all the red tape.

Good Luck with the search however.

Yeah. Very, very few come up for sale & they're expensive. Judging from the few prices I've seen, I can save $5 - $10K CDN by going through it by myself. But it must be 15 years old to make easy paperwork.

6% Duty for German car
$100 Air con tax
7% GST
All of the above payable at the border after a 72 hour title search by US Customs.

Then to register it locally it's 8%.

It adds approx 18% (the way you calculate it) to the value.

So, I want to avoid state taxes & shipping charges, needless to say.

Ian,

if there is anything I can do to help Stateside let me know. I might be able to help with the transportation to the border. I'm only about 4 hrs. from Buffalo. 15 years should put you in a nice 87-89 P-car!!

I've got a friend locally her selling an 87 targa with 45k on the clock, it's an immaculate car......(I'm not a targa fan though.....no flames). I think he wants about 20k for it.

No to Targa here too.

I travel extensive in the Southeast, which helps my car shopping. NC to OK & south. But everything I like is north or west at this point (of course).

I think I've decided (emphasis on think) on a coupe. To leave me some play cash it has to be < $18K. I have seen some pretty rotten G50s in that price range, so it looks like a 915 Carrera is in my future.

But I just have to be patient . . .

But I just have to be patient . . .

But I just have to be patient . . .

But I just have to be patient . . .

Repeat endlessly.
