Default Alternator Stuck

Alternator is stuck in fan housing. No matter how much tapping I do to it it will not budge. Any ideas on how to get it out without damaging studs or the alternator?

I also need a fan housing. Mine is cracked. Any recommendations on where to get one besides the dealer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Use a block of wood to tap the fan housing against. The alt. will shake out.
You can get the fan housing welded (heliarc).

Good Luck

The best way I have found is to take two pieces of 4x4 (or if no 4x4 then stack up some short pieces of 2x4) space them apart a bit wider than the alternator on the floor. Put a towel on the floor for the alternator to fall on. Hold fan housing/alternator about 10" above the 4x4's drop onto the pieces of wood. Repeat until alternator falls out.

Thanks for the advice. Used the 2 blocks of wood and dropped it a couple of times and out she came. It is the original alternator also.
The housing is bent though. Need to start looking for a new one.

Cheers
