Hi
I am new to the forum and considering an Australian Compliance 911s (1977).
The engine is green. The current owner has told me this signifies that it is an S model.
Is this correct?
Andrew

Andrew,
forget the engine shroud, that can be changed: you need the chassis number.
In 1977 Porsche made the following cars:
the 2.7 ltr, 165 bhp normally aspirated engines known as 911, or 911S in the USA, in Europe the Carrera 3, 3.0 ltr 200 bhp (not sure if this made it across the pond in '77?) and the 930 (Turbo - 300bhp or 245 in USA?)
My '76 2.7 Ltr has a green shroud.
Lots of books carry chassis number details.
Good hunting.
