Prices on the rise again ?

Correct on the numbers. I think its overpriced for the mileage assuming ppi/service check out. They also have a 96 Turbo w/96,000 km asking $189,900. Started at $200,000...it's almost a year now. I gotta think they aren't running a museum but are into the car for more than a researched person would pay.

Joking aside...Whether this was an outlier or a change in the market sentiment, who knows? Auctions are full of oddities. I'm just glad I snatched this beauty when the values were "right":

The market has spoken..... you can toss out the outlier cars like the 99k mile blue one that sold on BAT for something like $75k. That was a ridiculous price. The right cars are still doing strong money. But it has to be the right car, good color, low miles, excellent condition, verifiable history, no paint work, no stories. The run of the mill car that's a nice driver or a slightly modded driver with 80, 100 or some questionable mileage on it, appears to have slumped in the market. Coupe's still command more than targa's which command more than cabs but the market has cooled a bit. Is it the season? I doubt it but lots of people make that argument.

I think the market for high end hot rods has cooled a bit too. I agree it was red hot the last couple years but its my opinion that market segment is being filled quickly. There are a lot of people out there building these things pretty quickly, some better than others. The totally OEM cars will always have value, the hot rods and the resto mods will wax and wane depending on trends in the market and tastes.

It's funny ; I sold my '16 GT3 RS to buy an '07 GT3 RS which I really like , but something is tugging at me to sell it and buy another Carrera . They have a feel / size that none of the newer cars ( well - maybe the 964 ) can't match . In stock form they aren't particularly quick by current standards , but the fun factor is high .

IRT pricing, in particular on G50 cars, a good deal on one nowadays seems to be anything under $40k. My friend purchased an '87 in good condition a few months ago for $37k...it was a Craigslist find. At that pricing, they move quick. No amount of hesitation is allowable. In this market, i think the price was good. Personally i think there are way better cars out there for that price, but that's a different subject.
