'88 G's are tough to come by and the color added to it. However, I was still surprised that it cleared $80k with fees.

Really GOOD cars always command high prices.

Its the average ones that ebb and flow with the market.

I am very surprised at this one, a 1988 G50 with no service records prior to 1994 (being picky here but), appears they have engine mechanicals (compression, leak down) how about valve covers? 99,000 miles. Apparently good paint and yes re-done interior and yes a beautiful car. Most of the write up refers to stuff we all know, G50, 3.2L, electric sunroof, raised hub, 16" tires, Fuchs (I assume 6 and 7's)...etc. OK an oil change, filter, fluids... it did get new Bilsteins, tires. A CoA, fine. Clean Carfax, fine. But $72K? I'm doing some looking as I prepare to offer up my "87 Coupe. I see an '89 with 74K miles for $57,900 an '87 Coupe with 118K miles for $59,900 and a couple of '87's in 100-120K mile territory for $50K. There are even some cars out there in the 40's. Most of the higher priced cars have half the miles of this one and/or recent top end engine rebuilds. I'm not unhappy, just saying.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Aircooled Porsche where nothing makes sense.
I have nothing constructive to say, except that I'm here for the ride, while I enjoy my own 911s.

Carry on.

Nice car.....they bring what someone is willing to pay. I've been offered more than that for my 88. It's just not for sale.

Dealer here wants $89,900 CAD for 89 special
Edition. 180,000 kms. I offered but they aren't budging below $82,000. I have no clue on service history but car looks clean in pics. Offer was conditional on PPI and history review.

Wow .. Mooty that is perfection. Looks brilliant in silver.

BTW, we all know that certain colors can drive car prices to stratospheric levels. Here is a 88 coupe I posted for the owner priced in the low 50's

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...era-coupe.html

to some its the timeless white but to many its the "boring" white so no premium there.

OP, your SC would always fetch a premium given that it is Talbot yellow .. even if the market is soft. But please .. just start driving it and put some miles

I guess that's 112K miles? and $68,324? There's an '89 silver anniversary on Autotrader with 27K miles for $90K. Shows that prices are all over the place. don't know I'd pay a $22K premium for 85K less miles, obviously depends on PPI outcome, etc.
