yeah I would, as that looks like an early turbo tail. on an early turbo

The second Pic looks like run of the mill Carrera tail on a Carrera .

Those angles are bad for tails though as you cant see any detail.

So if I am looking to buy, what do I refer it as, a 76 Whale tail or a early Turbo tail?

The tail on the turbo at auction is no the one a '76 Carrera would have had, the Turbo has large secondary opening for the AC condenser
The Carrera would have had one of the following, the first 2 are the same as the turbo but no second opening if the can doesn't have AC

Small second opening, for a trans oil cooler

This one was usually added at the dealership, all p/u and very heavy

Bill, just to be sure, you are saying that this is the one that would have been installed on my vehicle?

Would you say this is a correct one as well?

What can I expect to pay for a tail like that?

nice car, first problem might be finding one..

are you fixing the car up to sell ? I wouldn't bother doing al this to sell unless you think it will raise value significantly.

Making it more attractive to buyers. Not thinking if it will raise value, if any, just seek more interest.

None of the'76 had a/c just like the '73 RS, so I only wanted to know what would have been appropriate the '76. Both cars almost identical, except for the body style. Lh vs IB.
