I've been doing a lot of price research on Carrera's, and I would hazard $20K + for what you described. There's one on Trader with 57K for $22.9K from a dealer - no spoliers though.

I can send you my Excel research file if you want. I have tracked over 300 sales of late SCs & Carreras. Graphs, averages etc. I have been somewhat obsessive . . .

Sounds nice.
Are you selling?
I think $22-$24 is reasonable depending on how clean the PPI comes out and how the cosmetics are.
Not sure what the marketplace commands where you are.
Where I am, an 86' like yours could easily fetch $23-$24.

Thanks Ian,

the spreadshett would be great (angus@sssnet.com)

Ahedau,

I'm actually looking...I was offered the above mentioned car from a Doctor for 19k........almost seems to cheap to pass up. The car is immaculate, I would give it a strong 9 out of 10. It really only needs new tires.

I'm not crazy about the burgandy interior (no flames please), but I think I could get use to it.

I'd buy it.
I dont care for red or burgandy interiors either though...but for that price...

Go for it

Could be worse, Red on Red...
I hope I'm not digging a hole here...

I assume the top is black?

For $19K, it is a good buy. But don't skip the PPI.

I know what you mean about the tired interior colors & condition. The one I am seeing (and have an accepted offer on) is linen. The off-white.

Burgundy & the lighter blue seem the most dated to me. And many of the interiors are just plain tired. I was willing to go for black, but not enthusiastically.

Your spreadsheet is on its way.

THX Ian...............
I agree....black is the best. I'll try to offset it with a black Momo steerimg wheel.

That particular car should be able to be bought from anywhere from $22K-$24K depending on how he PPI goes. I would go to a very well know garage to get the PPI done. Cabs really demand a premium over the coupes. If you really want the open air experience without the large price tag, consider a Targa. The market on Targa's are down these days. Jay,

thanks for the response. It'sbeen offered to me for 19k. I've oened an 90 C4 targa, an 86 coupe and a 95 993. I just wanted to try something different, therefore going for the cab. I don't get that much time to enjoy my cars so I figured at least the top will be down on the days I can.

The price seems pretty hard to pass up on. I had all the records sent to me today, the previous owner seems very meticolous. Absolutely everything that was an issue was taken care of immediately. It also just had the 60k service done.

Schuey,

possibly, but I'd still have to change all the carpet, dash, door skins etc. etc.
I'm going to leave it as is. It's actually growing on me the more I look at the pics.

Thanks for the thought though!!

Classic case of 'car lust'.

It makes everything you will hate temporarily disappear. Kind of like the babes left at last call . . .
