85 vs 86
Good list.
Correction?: 85 on has windshield antenna, yes?
Re: shifter: '86 has 10% shorter throw.
Was there a change in the seats somewhere between '84-87? Higher seat back??
Mike

So, how would you spend my $$$ for a late 80's Carrera?
I was focusing on the 87 - 89 cars for the G50 transmission. I've come accross an 86 cab that's "tugging at my heart" (to quote another Rennlister) VERY clean and low miles ~ low 60K range, well optioned.
The big Q: is the G50 THAT much better? Should I just try to be a little more patient and wait for an 87 to 89? I can't drive it until the ice melts here anyway.
TIA,
Mike R.

I suggest driving both the 86 and the 87 year cars to determine what you like best. I had an 86 coupe last year that was an absolute blast to drive, the shifting initially requires alittle more patience, but after a few miles becomes very simple. Gearing down to first gear will always be difficult..........but really how often do you need to do that.
Again, drive one of each and decide.
