PORSCHE SC documents and VIN
Hi guys, just found a well priced 3.0sc targa ROW but there’s something bothering me, the car is supposed to be first registered in May 1978, but VIN number and engine number indicate that’s a 79 MY....so, was this possible to happen? A so early 78 car be a MY 79??

Well, not necessarily. Where does the registration info come from? It wouldn't surprise me if it was just wrong.
The VIN sticker in the drivers' side door jamb should have the month and year of production. At least US cars do, I think ROW will have it as well.
