on a 911 sc 1979, does it matter which way up the head gaskets are installed??

Head Gasket Orientation
Many thanks. So, the smaller diameter of the gasket goes down onto the cylinder? What is the rational to this?

so the bigger side goes towards the cylinder head;-)...
