Hmm. True. I did not take this into account. TireRack shows the RE71 225/50 TireRack to have an acceptable rim width to be 6-8". Mounting it on a 9" wheel would get you into "stretch" territory and could be dangerous. You could call TR and ask.

FWIW, Toyo makes the T1R is 225 and 245.

RE71 is shown as 'extreme performance summer': https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...Potenza+RE-71R . R-comps are typically categorized as 'track and competition.'
