The 2.7 in a light middie with no flares is a great combo once the engine is sorted
I still think 70k is very strong money for an unknown. Hell strong for any g body

Marketing car. The '74 911 (basic car!) was quicker around the track in the Car & Driver test. Like the '75 Anniversary, Weissach, '88 Silver Anniversary. Think "Bill Blass", "Cartier", and "Givency" LINCOLNS .

There are special edition cars that are given to the press for testing.....like the Cosworth Vega. It's was used to trick the public into thinking all Vegas were performance oriented.
Take the Hemi Dart for example. The regular 271 Dart was a dog. The 383 Dart was an improvement. The 440 Dart was just about right.....but the 426 Hemi was killer. That's the one that was given to the press for testing.

"The basic 911, contrary to all that is right, also managed to be easily the fastest on the road course. The high-back bucket seats—new this year—provide excellent lateral support, the Miche*lin tires are clean and clear in their re*sponse, and the optional suspension un*derpinnings are well suited to track driving. "
The duck tail proved to be conundrum of sorts:
With or without the Carrera decklid, the front tires' weight loss due to airflow is approximately 200 lbs. be*tween 60 and 100 mph. But by 120 mph, the rear spoiler is actually a disadvantage, because it unloads the front end by an additional 60 lbs. over the non-spoilered car. Clearly, some sort of snow plow is needed in the front to match the effectiveness of the ski ramp in the rear.
The '74 had no chin spoiler.

Ok but Cartier and Givenchy? What's that got to do with anything? And then Lincoln?
