Thanks Dave, the car isn't painted yet. This pic is after I delivered to the shop on Thursday, they will start work on the paint next week.

If you consider this a "Mild" restoration, I would love to see your version of a complete restoration. LOL.

This is what smoking the Porsche Crack Pipe for the last 35 years does to you

I had mine done two years ago sans rebuild and it was in the shop far longer than a few months. Good luck on your timeline. I missed most of the summer and it was closer to a year. I hope yours goes better. You don't see many in that color around here. I love it. P.S> If you are going to go back to the factory steering wheel and decide to sell the one on the car, I would be interested.

Now with needing track insurance, effectively doubling the price for 2 partial days, I haven't been back.

Pity. Lots of fun.
Off the OPs topic, but most insurance companies do NOT cover damage incurred at a DE. I bought track insurance the first time I did a DE years ago, but never thereafter. And I don't carry any insurance on my racecar. I don't know anybody who does.

The car should be back from paint mid December. I hope to have reassembly completed early in the New Year for spring driving.

Cross drilled rotors, they were on the car when it arrived and in as new condition. I'm not sure at this point if I will keep them.

Thanks you for taking the time (and the expense) of doing this. That was the heyday of Porsche (in my opinion) and were terrific cars. They were also quite simple to take apart and reassemble. Parts shouldn't be too hard to find for that vintage, either!

I remember well when these were brand new. Terrific cars! That's mine on the left--1981 911SC that had been turbocharged.

The car is finally ready for color this coming week! On Friday l drove 400 miles round trip in the pouring rain to pickup 1.5 gallons of Glasurit Line 55 Paint and all the other ingredients required to spray the car $2500 cash only! That's what l call dedication!
