Default SC front tires

I got a 78' SC, I have 15" cookie cutters with wider rear tires than the front. As far as looks go, do people ever go wider up front??

An SC can take 7" front and 9" rear under the stock body w/o mods. I think your cookie cutters are 6" no?

Some have 225's in front; suspect going from 205 in front to 225 would suggest 245 in rear on wider rims, in order to maintain staggered look.

I got 185/ 70 In front and 215/60 in back. They are P6000's. Is it better to go a little wider in front ? If so what's the max you would suggest ? Do the sizes I have provide for the best look and performance?

An SC has the wider rear flare, as opposed to the mid-year 911s, so I'd definitely stagger the f/r sizes. Given that wider rear, I'd double check what widths you have (you still haven't clarified that), and if you don't have 7s in the back I'd absolutely go source some out as the rim widths will dictate what tire size you can put on.

Once you determine that you have 6"F/7"R, put on 225s out back, and 205s up front and you're good to go. Of course you can go wider, but I "think" you're focusing on keeping your cookies, right?

15" staggard is the stock spec I believe for all SCs with Fuchs. Agree the wider rears fill out the slightly fared fenders of the SC.
Wondering if going too wide on front tires changes the steering/handling dynamics as intended for the car?

How do I determine if I have 7's in the back?

"going wider up front" will depend a lot on the offset of the wheel you are using , are you thinking same wheel just wider tire ? or changing wheels ?

wider gives more ultimate grip but will reduce that nice, light steering feel

width on F vs. R will affect under/oversteer balance

all up to you as to what you want

16" were optional (6" front and 7" rear)

don''t forget - the stock spec in the late '70s & on was for heavy understeer (as non-enthusiasts discovered the marque...)

Pop off a rear wheel and look closely for a stamping. You may have to clean up whatever road grime there, but Porsche factory wheels are stamped with width and offset ("ET" is offset). I've not seen Cookie wheels in a long time but they should be marked.
