Hi guys. I wanted to thank you all for your insights. I really struggled with the issue of a non numbers matching car (or completely different motor from another year for that matter), and passed. It actually worked out ok, because the owner was having second thoughts anyway and was relieved when I told him.

The hunt continues.....

numbers matching will cost you more money, but worth it if you are a purist.

do not stray away from a good driver missing matching numbers however. Hot rods are great fun.

70/71 are the best years for the powertrain

72 is the best year for the body (worst for the trans.)
