I daily drive (until winter) a 78'SC for a round trip commute to work of approx 40miles. It has no sunroof,no ac and no power windows. It's perfect and makes me happy every time I get in it. It's nothing like the later models of porsches I had before, ending with a 14' Cayman with all the bells and whistles. For me, going air cooled was the point, if I was going for something more modern, I would of stuck to the Cayman. I just don't feel much for that area between aircooled and the latest tech. Go aircooled as previously said it makes for a decent investment at the very least.

Like most here I'm.biased to air cooled. In the water pumpers I've only driven a 997, never a 996. Water cooled is an amazing driving experience but engine feels like a turbine vs air cooled.
Post your question in the 996 forum, you'll see how different the world looks from that angle.
