Best recommendation for headlights
1987 S4
State Wyoming
Elevation 7000 - 11000 feet
Traffic sparse to none at all
When going home at night I drive a 30 mile long highway with very minimal traffic; that is, for cars. Deer and antelope are another story. A number of years back we suffered a 10k repair bill after hitting a deer. I would have really cried if it had been the Porsche but it was the Cadillac.
I want to put the very strongest, brightest lights on the 928. I always dim my lights so I am not worried about blinding any of the approaching cars. Actually, with snow machines being so popular here in the winter, it is the oncoming traffic to worry about as, in the winter, almost any pickup is going to have a couple of machines on the box with the headlights pointed at the moon.
Recommendations, anyone? I'm talking bright with long distance to see the varmits before I crash into them.

at the posted speedlimit or 75 mph on I 70 my h5's are great...I so no need for h4 at nite but I dont have a lot close to the hiway at those speeds. wide open country here in kansas

H5's may also suit your needs - but... they are the same price new as H4's...

Just for interest - there are only 2 x 8" H5 at the wholesalers currently and no US 8" H4's.
I have only been able to buy H4's from Porsche for at least a year now.
Porsche only has 6 x H5's but 200 x H4's.
We currently sell H5's for $368 and H4's for $332.

Wow Roger, that is amazing. H4's actually cheaper than H-5's. I have had 8" H4's for about 8 years, and certainly would never go back to H5's unless an H4 lens got broken, and no more H4's were available! (Maybe I should buy a new H4 now!!!).

Glen McCartney has some HID's on his '85 that have high and low beam, and are brighter than my H4's with 100w bulbs... Holy cow, plus HID's on his driving lights too. That is a nice setup.
