Default Does '21 have the Euro GPF

I read a post from Pedro about C40 oil instead of A40 and he said the '21 GT4 has the same particle filter as the Euro cars and that is why they have to use the C40 oil. Does anyone know if this is correct. For '20 they just had a filter in the over axle pipe but not the Euro GPF which is really terrible.

Before I order I want to know what the straight skinny is since having the Euro GPF might make it an EPA emissiions part then you couldn't replace the over Axle part to get rid of the filter in it.

Thanks for any help

I have no specific information about whether something has changed for 2021.

However, the 2020 cars already have an inert GPF, which still has plenty of small holes which might be obstructed by soot / ash (which is what drives the C40 requirement in the first place).

It seems unlikely that Porsche would ship an "active" GPF into North America for 2021 when the regulations don't require it, if they've already done the engineering to ship an inert part for 2020 and save the money on the active elements.

Yes, NA 2021s have the GPF which is unmonitored and doubtful it’s an emissions piece. — you’d have to check the EPA submission for that.

Bottomline same ceramic matrix so same sound attenuation and exhaust restrictions

Here’s one from a US 2021

If someone in possession of a 21 who knows what to look for can look at their GPF to see if there’s a sensor attached that would provide the answer. Otherwise it’s pure speculation.

The post about the oil is irrelevant, Porsche and VAG in general have universally switched over to the particulate filter friendly oils globally. You can’t use that reference to infer the presence of the active filter.

There is no sensor ... they’re not monitored. That’s why in NA you can pull em off without an ECU reflash.

You know I have often wondered if anyone has dropped those down and then carefully as possible Cut-Out those Screens ???
Or simply used a torch and cut them out ???

Then obviously those would be Wide-Open so I'm thinking the Audio/Sound for the exhaust might Greatly improve ???

Thoughts guys ?????????????

I say the above as here in the USA those are Not-Monitored like in the European Countries so looks like we could do a Modification ...............

Default Thanks

tNo Sensor should mean the item is not a EPA required piece. The reasoning to even put the piece in there seems ridiculous by Porsche standards. "So they don't have to tune it for 2 different systems" So backflow is the same. Maybe noise for CA rules is the only reason I can think of.
