Huh, I like the sound of this, to me the x-pipe blends both banks of the engine, the titanium raises the pitch too...

Although it might be because I have a similar setup on my Spyder.

I like it too, but find it difficult to enjoy after the devastating blow by @Bill_76

Why does he have to sell his car? And where has he said he got a discount. It wouldn’t surprise me but I haven’t seen it.

Because one can tell how an exhaust truly sounds by the puny speakers on one’s device 🥴

Given his numerous Boxer/Cayman reviews, both stock and modded, history of keeping cars, and ideas of what makes a good sports car, I can't see him removing his DeMan for any other reason than financial...aside from clearing way for his recent Meyers-Manx order.

I feel like Matt is very trustworthy and honest in his reviews, but I think his viewpoint is going to be very different than many here. Like many reviewers, Matt gets to sample/drive almost every new "fun" car on a near weekly/monthly basis with minimal commitment needed. He doesn't have to commit to a car, unlike most of us. What he buys is going to be different than most of us.

you’re right mic distortion is always present compared to hear it in person but in all 4.5l Deman I heard they sound like a truck for me compared to a regular 4.0l, more muscle than the regular Porsche sound, but it is me. I love 981 sound far more than 718 4.0l for example, or 991.2 gt3 sound vs 992 Gt3, but it depends of each person.

The DeMan conversion, some are into it, some don't want the original equipment messed with. The market seems to favor the later.

Value wise- this recent sale of a low mileage car on C&B shows that you do get at least 50%+ back on the deman kit given this car sold for 160 with a 118 sticker and a 58k bill from Deman-

Agreed that with the stock exhaust it sounds worse than a factory 4.0, but I think with the Kline system or any of the other proper sounding systems it will sound alright. The extra power is huge and I would love my car with an extra 200 wheel horsepower ( which is what his Spyder put down on the dyno).

That + the shorter gearing would be an amazing combo. Would be pressed to invest it into a GTS 4.0 tho... would do it to a long term spyder with the right spec. The green was terribly spec'd (IMO- no buckets, no ceramics, ugly trim, "unique" color, boring interior, etc), and still got big money.

Oh, I am sure that there are ways to make it sound really good - I am just shocked at how dynamic the SRS in stock form, which is absolutely cabin / intake centric, and it is so good that I don't have any immediate plans to change the exhaust when my SRS arrives.

That was not the case with my standard Spyder, which sounded god-awful stock, and sort of made me wonder if I had made a bad decision with the purchase. It just didn't sound like a GT product to me. A Kline inconel system certainly helped, but the 4L in the standard GT4 / Spyder just produces a different sound, and one that I never got on all that well with.

I've never heard a DeMan car - but even Matt describes it as a motorboat (?!?!??!) type sound. One of his first videos with the car made me wonder if he was driving a Porsche - I think he had Fabspeed OAPs if I remember correctly. It was just not an inspiring sound from my perspective. But I can appreciate that others could have a different take.

I am getting the SRS for the 9K RPM, the intakes, and the downshifts. Lots of stuff is "faster" out there, but I don't care too much about that. I had a **** eating grin on my face for two days after a short ride with Adrift...the thing is truly mental. Coolest experience in a car that I've ever had...

Most important takeaway, aside from, "there is a level of Spyder for everyone", is that the Fanttik V8 is on sale today. Definitely the one to have.
