Default SPYDER RS COCKPIT COVER

I saw a link to a cockpit cover (not a whole car cover) in one of the RS Spyder threads, I believe sold by a European company but cannot find the link, any help out there. If anyone has purchased, a review would be great.

I did a search but nothing comes up.

Mine just arrived. I ordered the lightweight version. Very well made. I don't have the car yet so I can't comment on the fit. But it looks fine in the video.

Received mine yesterday, I test fitted it on my Boxster 4.0, the fit is good, and the material is nice. Since my Boxster obviously doesn't have tensioner fins at the rear, I can't speak to how secure it will be on the Spyder, but I do note, there is nothing to prevent the sides, next to the doors, from blowing up/being lifted up by wind or random people allowing rain to potentially enter the cabin. the sides of the cover do seem to have some weighting or magnets to them, but it's not very secure. But the reality is this car's OEM top is not particularly secure either, anyone can gain access by removing the weather shield anyway.

All in all I recommend it, recognizing its limitation, it's a good protection against the elements if you don't want to bring your top along or put it up when you park.

I contacted the manufacturer of the cover and his recommendation was to purchase the heavier weight top ! I asked if they would do a group buy or offer a PCA discount but he wasn't interested , I plan on ordering the heaver cover. Don't want any BIRD SXXT or someone tossing a butt in it LOLLOL

I ordered it just for the garage so I never have to play around with the top. It will keep the dust and creepy crawlies out.

I have a heavier duty cover on it's way. I will provide assessment once it arrives and fitted.

I got the light one as well. Agree that it’s very well-made. Also, don’t have the car yet so can’t discuss how it works in action. Company was wonderful to deal with.

I ordered the standard one for a Spyder RS and it’s great. Well made and a good fit; the best fit is with the windows fully up. I personally would not use this long term as an outdoor cover; it’s not intended for that. For a short time while going in a store and running some errands etc. it’s good. If it’s very windy or pouring rain there could be some issues. It IS weighted down but not enough to keep it secure in a strong wind. I THINK it would be ok in a light sprinkle or shower, but in a deluge….? I do plan on using mine as described above for short stints outside; but its main use will be in the garage when I dont want to put the whole top up. He was very easy to deal with and the whole process went smoothly. I would definitely recommend getting it if so inclined. I also got the pull loops but have not put them on yet. They too seem well made; he includes an installation video and the process is very easy.

Concerns over security with any convertible are a waste of time / energy, IMO. Any convertible is extremely easy to get into, if someone wants in. The only question(s) for me would be ability to withstand light wind. At what point does this get dislodged.

Exactly true, especially on the SRS when all you need to do to access the cabin is remove the weather guard, by pulling the three snaps off, you don't even need a knife to cut the top open.

That must be a pretty small thief (or world's longest arm) to crawl through between the seats....lol.
