Default SRS Trunk Dimensions

Hey everyone, I’m picking up the Spyder RS in Leipzig later this summer and don’t want to get stuck with a larger suitcase.

Does anyone have the actual dimensions of the front and rear trunk spaces? All I could find online is in volume.

Thanks in advance.

I second this request for the same reason.

It would be very helpful if some of the early delivery Spyder RS owners could please measure and post the exact dimensions of the frunk and the trunk in their SRS, terms of height x width x depth.

thank you in advance.

I eyeballed the trunks of an SRS that came into my dealer yesterday. Both seemed identical to the trunks on my GT4RS, except the rear trunk is where the extra small piece for the hood is hung on the front side. That appears to reduce the depth by about an inch maybe an inch and a half. It is removable, however, so if you needed the extra width, you could simply pile it on top of your luggage rather than hang it on the side.

I don’t know about the RS, but the regular Spyder can hold two carryons up front plus a small bag, and a case of water in the rear. The RS looks similar.

Congratulations and post pictures!

PS The storage for the convertible top does not appear to infringe on the trunk space. The top sits on top of the engine.

I do appreciate the general comments guys, but not what I'm hoping for.

I'm going to be in europe for two weeks with a woman (so I have to maximize storage space, ha ah). So I need precise dimensions, not just eyeballing it.

Parabolica and I would really appreciate it if an early owner could take a minute with a tape measurer and post on this thread for everyone doing ED this year, what are the precise height, width, and depth of the frunk and trunk of a Spyder RS.

Here’s some good poop on the Spyder dimensions

https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...imensions.html

Believe there is a small reduction up front on the RS…I’ll look around for that post.

Rear should be same

Okay I am attempting to do this with no help and off my phone - so excuse the formatting and awful pictures lol.

***For every measurement including the measuring tape itself, add 2 inches to the total.***

First we start with the rear trunk:

First I measured the widest part of the trunk.

This is for the widest part.

Next I checked front to back.

Front to back measurement.

This is the height at the forward most part of the trunk.

This is the height at the rear.

Next is the width inbetween the tighter part of the trunk.

Width between tighter area measurement.

Next is the forward trunk area / frunk:

First off is the width of the frunk.

This is that measurement.

Next up is depth, forward to back.

Measurement for front to back depth.

Next is the height at the further back position of the frunk.

And finally the height at the front of the frunk - closest to you if you are looking at it head on.

I apologize if that was awful - I can attempt it again with someone helping later on.

Someone get the measurements of a couple of carry-ons, plus couple other soft bags, then put those in and take pics… that might give better impression.

I’m figuring out my luggage now for my SRS European delivery in August.

any other pointers/luggage suggestions?

can someone tell me how much space is behind the 18 way seats? Enough space for a sweater I hope?

Use luggage that is not hard shell, so you can stuff it in tight spots and get some leeway.

That depends on your height and seat position.

I think it would be the same in any 718.

My wife and I did 2, 55L for the frunk and 2, 40L for the trunk.

Then 2 of these to hang throught he holes in the bucket seats, for behind the seats. I may not be able to stuff mine, but my wife should have plenty of room behind the seat.

I guess we should try to find a GT4 RS to see how the bags fit. I don't think we can find a local SRS.

porsche Fort Collins just took in a GT4RS this week. Available for sale, sales manager there is a good guy and might allow you to check your bags.

please report back on how your bags work once you collect your car. My ED is 4 weeks after yours and I’m waiting to buy luggage until I know for sure.

Did some prelimary testing/measuring yesterday and I think the frunk will accommodate two standard carryons, but not much else. (Standard carryon is 22 x 14 x 9 inches)

My lady and I plan to bring two carryons for the frunk but the rear is more of a question mark. The truck has much more length than the frunk but less height and possibly less width due to the latch mechanism.
A rectangular soft bag that can be carried different ways such as the ones you posted are likely a good choice for the trunk compartment, but two carryons are likely doable for the frunk.
