Default Catalytic Converter Theft

This is a big topic, unfortunately. I don't see any mention of it in the 718 listings.

Does anyone know anti-theft equipment for our cars? (I have a '21 Boxster GTS)

TIA,

That’s bc getting to the converters on a 718 isn’t a simple heist.

Think about how you’d get to them on your car, and how long it would take for one (or many) of these low-life’s to gain access.
I’d be more concerned about walking out to my car sitting on cinderblocks, wheels gone, than I would about my converters.

Those crooks are looking for the low hanging fruit. Prius, Civic, Element, Tacoma, etc. They aren't dealing with the hassle of getting the cats off our cars. The metal content is the same from a hard to steal cat on an exotic to the easy to steal Japanese and Domestic stuff so the go the easy route.

Yep, agree with all points above. Cat theft has been rampant where I live. Our cars sit low and are too much of a hassle relative to other vehicles which present barriers for theft. Entire car theft or wheel theft is much more likely for our cars.

The real theft is the government allowing auto manufacturers to gouge us when we need to buy one of these required smog components and forcing us to buy only from them. Sanctioned robbery.

I never worried about it mainly because the car is way too low to easily access and steal.

Praying that my OEM cats get stolen so I can finally replace them with Kline Inconel 200 Cell Cats. 😁

Antitheft mechanism is just being to damn low to get to the cats easily
