Cup 2 vs PS4S for City Driving

I have a 15 min commute every day, no track days.
I currently run PS4S, but wonder what Cup2 would be like for warm summer months of city driving.
Would I notice a massive amount of grip difference over rmy PS4S? Would there be a lot of negatives (ie warming up Cup2, which might never happen on 15 min daily commutes - driving in rain etc.). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Stay with PS4S. This comparison has been discussed in here before.

Well you can, but not in a city 15 minute commute.

Cup2s performance operating temp is 195F IIRC, almost impossible to get to those temps on the street and achieve the benefits. Then of course you have to deal with reduced wet and temperature performance.
The PS4S is much better for your intended use.

I don't see the big deal with the Cup 2. I hated mine and when I switched to PS4S, it made the car better in every way for street enjoyment.

Made the switch to PS4S almost immediately on my GT4. Didn't put many miles on the Cup 2s that came with the car but the few miles I did drive were in cooler Massachusetts in April temps and they did not inspire much confidence. Didn't log enough miles to sense how much steering precision I was losing out on by going to PS4S, but I imagine it was some.

Those of you that made the switch, has it helped with less rocks being thrown up at the car? My rockers with ppf have taken a lot of wear and tear in very few miles

I have read many comments on Cup 2s stating it makes a car feel like it was glued to the road. Very much better than PS4. I assume then this would all be related to track use as in the city it would be difficult to gain that performance from Cup 2s?

Don't take this the wrong way but there should be NO conversation about needing or even wanting Cup 2's for city commute for 15-20 mins. unless you live and drive in Death Valley daily.
I have a set of Cup 2's going on my spare set of wheels and ONLY plan to run them in the Summer heat in the mountains when we're definitely going for a long drive to the Tail of the Dragon or something but Mainly for if I get the chance for a track day this Summer.
Other wise I run my current PS4S's or my Conti's Extreme Sport Contacts (Competitor for the PS4S's - Less expensive with almost as much grip / performance).
Cup 2's would be just a waste of money to be hones...even for me wanting to do a very spirited drive at the Tail of the Dragon in the Summer here (high 80's to 100's) could be considered a waste of money as well... I just want to see how they feel compared to the PS4S's up there...Again, mainly saving them for a track day.
PS4S's will serve you very very well for your needs!!
Yes, they're for Extreme Summer use with plenty of time to heat up but MOSTLY for track use.
