What they haven’t said is what trim and for how long.
And THAT is the $64,000 question. PAG may decide to not produce location-specific trims, leaving the GT4 RS and Spyder RS only.

And where will the cash flow come from in the meantime? Porsche can't just flush the market with RS models. I think Porsche will continue to produce the standard models for a long time to come, especially for the American and Chinese markets. The employees, the management, the shareholders, everyone has to earn money and pay their bills.

The 982 represents a very tiny slice of cars sold by PAG. Approximately ten 992 911 variants are sold for every one 982 718 variant. And the profit is in the RS versions of the 718.

Not to mention their SUVs which far outsell the 911 and are their bread and butter.

Tex, doesn't this have to do with EVs in the sense that there will not be a replacement for the ICE 982 that meets all the requirements because Porsche is switching these models to EV?

God bless you,
TT

My understanding, after speaking to someone who works in compliance for CNH (farm machinery manufacturer), is that a lot of this cyber security regulation is related to preventing modification to vehicle systems. For example cat and DEF deletes or of course engine tuning.
