WRT the clearance, I've run 265/305 in RT660 and SC3R with -3.1/-2.6 camber and there was very slight rubbing the rear. I have camber plates in the front and you will need them for the fronts in these sizes.

Ya, I'll prob try the 265/305 sizes for the next set, if they're available. I bought my 255/285 several months ago.

Those alignment specs seem spot on for the tire sizes.
Rear Camber plates would resolve the slight rubbing in the rear w/305's

I'm running a 19x11 et45 which is the most aggressive rear offset Apex makes (for TPC toe link clearance) so I need all the help I can get from the rear camber plates not to rub with these 305's. Unmounted, they look significantly wider than themounted 285's.

I'll be following your journey, so keep us updated when you get the new rubber mounted.
I too have ET45 rear offset - although they don't appear to look all that aggressive visually as I'd hoped.

In case anyone is interested, before landing on the 245/40 285/35 re-71rs combo, I tried to fit 265/40 295/35 a052. The 265/40 unfortunately wound up being too tall and would contact near the sidemarker and back of the fender liner.

This is on 19s. I really wanted to stay near the diameter of the stock 20s, as running 255/35 295/30 was too low for my use.

Is there a sticky in this thread with all discussed tires ranked somehow (ie how long they last, lap times etc)?

Just curious because I think comparing the AD09 to an A052 should be in two different categories (ie, a street tire that can do track days vs a track tire that can be driven on the street to the track).

FWIW, I'm also running 19x11 Apexes and they've done fine for 305s in Cup2, RT660, and SC3R. Tiniest bit of rub at -3.1, and my track exercises the suspension pretty good. I guess the toe could also make some difference, haven't put any thought into it. I'm kinda curious if the rear camber plates would get the tires into my AP radi-cal brake lines, it's very close.

No sticky. Unfortunately RL doesn't let me edit a post past a few days of age, so I'd be having to ask a mod to update it repeatedly. Killed my desire to keep up with my weight savings documentation thread :|

For those that pull their track wheels/tires off the car between track days reverting back to OEM wheels, or just for the “offseasons”, do you run with spacers front/rear for a more flush fitment due to the way an aggressive alignment (-3/-2.5) + smaller width tire will tuck them in more? I currently run 8mm spacers upfront and I like the way the fitment looks. I feel the fronts will need 12mm, and possibly 5-8mm in the rear post aggressive track alignment. If running spacers is the trick to cleaning up fitment, would getting longer wheel studs say in the 92mm vs 82mm be the best option to ensure there is enough room to torque the lugs?

When I run the stock wheels and PS4S I use 12mm spacers with longer bolts up front, nothing in the rear. Could go with 15-20mm front and 5-8mm rear but this is good enough for me.

The AD09’s are widely discussed due to being one of the better options (readily available in stock) for OEM sizes. Others have compared them to Cup2 performance, or slightly better.. even if equal to, they come in at a better price point. The A052’s in my mind fall more into the categories of a time attack tire, or autoX, possibly suitable for a novice DE driver, but would not have the longevity throughout a full session like the AD09’s driven by a more experienced driver.

Most of the tires discussed fall under the category “Track tires that can be driven on the street”, or “wish I could get these but they’re always on back order!!”

May not be from this thread, but grassroots has a buying guide (~6 months out of date, but probably still fairly valid) that has a lot of what you're looking for. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ar...-buyers-guide/ Scroll to the bottom for their comparison table.

I've talked with Hollis a bunch of times. Very knowledgeable dude and shares a lot of learning. It's fun watching him lap his ND Miata pretty much on par with my laptimes in the GT4. Now the track is Miata friendly, but it's not THAT Miata friendly, and I'm only ~1 sec/min off the fastest I've ever seen in a GT4. Hollis is legit.

I've been running Sport Cup 2s in 255/35 R19 and 305/30R 19 I have -3.3 on left and -3.1 on right side camber on the front, and I'm still wearing out the outside shoulders on the front tyres long before the rest of the rubber is even close to being gone. I'm getting around 6 days out of a set and would like to get a bit more if I can figure out how to decrease this outer wear. This is an all stock GT4 except for Camber plates front and rear and LCA's in the back.
