Hello Rennlisters,
I have a 2023 718 Spyder that I daily drive (not tracking ever). I live in Southern California and got a nail in my rear tire. Porsche states they do not recommend patching the tire and I can understand why on a car like this (being a high speed sports car).
Have any of you ever patched a tire on your Porsche sports car?

Porsche dealerships will never repair a flat tire, no matter how minor the puncture, or the location of the puncture.
Depending on where your nail Is -- center of the contact patch (OK) versus near the side wall (NOT OK) -- a patch (and plug) is fine.
Where is the nail located and how many miles do you have on your current set of rubber?

I live in southern california and i had one of my rear Cup 2s patched and it was fine. Even took it up Angeles Crest and had no issues. I eventually swapped it my full set with PS4Ss later, but i rode with the patch for another 2.5k miles or so and had no issues.

No dealership will patch tires , its nothing to do with Porsche. You need to take it to a good tire shop like Discount tire and they will do it for free if you have bought tires from them
Taking it to a dealership for any tire work is completely useless and waste of time

A patch is fine as long as the nail is not in or close to the sidewall. It will be as good as new...
I would find a good tire shop that deals with high end vehicles or one that you've done business with before and know they are careful with wheels... Discount tire has damaged a couple of my wheels on different occasions so I've stopped using them.

I have tracked many tyres with puncture repairs and never had an issue. As long as it's plugged from the inside with the tyre off the rim, you have nothing to worry about.

I got a screw in the Michelin PS4S on my Audi RS5, and I actually consulted Michelin about repairing it. They actually say up to 2 puncture repairs are safe as long as they are more than 90 degrees apart.

It’s fine if it’s done right. Amateur race teams do it all the time. If money is no object then don’t bother but if it’s done right I wouldn’t worry. It’s not going to end up in a catastrophic failure anyway.

I had a Mercedes dealership do it, twice. Guess it depends on the dealership. I hung up on the Goodyear franchise. Telling me it was illegal was one of the most far fetched things I've ever heard from a repair shop.
