I think you get Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Pirelli PZero (Not sure the exact type) . I got the Michelins on my GTS 4.0. The prior poster is correct that it is a roll of the dice on which brand they are installing that day in the factory.

True. On my install day they were using Pirelli PZeros. Had hoped for Michelin. Oh well, I'll be replacing them soon enough.

My BGTS came with Pirelli P-Zeros, never had a problem with them at all, they performed well and went with the car when I sold it... IMHO people worry to much about this, if you keep the car long enough they will wear out and you can put on what you like then.

I find this a very odd post considering what kind of cars these are put on. People are paying a ton of money for one of the best sports cars available and they are supposed to be ok with a noticeably inferior tire? I feel bad for people that get the P Zeros and am very glad I got the Michelin’s. If it had P Zeros, I would’ve asked for money off the deal to get the 4Ss. They are a much much better tire.

Thanks for chiming in! I see the Pirelli's get a good review at Tire Rack, with particular accolades for wet weather performance. Here's what they have to say after rating the Michelin's ever so slightly higher:

" The Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) is another world-class option, with a sophisticated demeanor on the road, poised confidence on the track, and wet traction that could be the best we have ever tested. Our only minor concern involves the steering, as we wish it was a little more responsive and alert."

Everybody has an opinion on this. For my part, when I pick mine up next month, if it's got P Zeros I'll swap them out for a set of PS4S right away.

It's clear that users hold the Michelin's in higher regard, no doubt about that. That said, the only category that isn't subjective where the Pirellis appear to be significantly inferior according to everyday users is treadwear. That's a concern, but probably isn't a reason to replace them on day one IMO.

Agreed, by the tread wear rating and real world usage you will be replacing them soon enough anyway. In the test results video and data the PS4S wins in every category, it isn’t subjective. And they last quite a bit longer doing it. It sucks that manufacturers have to do this sometimes due to various reasons. Tires are the most important performance aspect to a car IMO so it is more important to me and obviously not to others. But, for people paying the exact same price as someone else, by only the luck of the draw they are getting inferior equipment. Can you imagine if random cars came off the line with 20 more HP than others? Some would still say you can barely feel it, it’s no big deal.

Nearly 30,000km on the P-Zero' s when I sold the car, for a high performance summer tire I would say that is pretty darn good.

Mine came with the P Zeros. No complaints so far, but I'm still in the break-in period. That said, I really liked the Michelin's on my Carrera T, so I'll most likely swap to them when these wear out.
