The only thing I take issue with is Porsche is using WP as a pay wall to PTS. Some have commented they checked the WP box just to have PTS. Others have commented they did it because they felt their RS would not retain value as well without it. In both those cases WP was an obligatory option. Others of course like it for what it is.
I guess it's also kind of cheesy for Porsche to attach a track theme moniker to what is essentially an appearance package. To be clear though, I am shaking my head at Porsche's marketing, not the folks who check or do not check this option box.
If Porsche included a WP specific exhaust, carbon sway bars, composite roof etc., I would have spec'd Weissach.
But Weissach is following what I think is an unfortunate trend in the Porsche lineup, which is a sanding of the edges of its most hardcore options. 4RS has essentially reduced Weissach to an appearance package. RS Spyder is softer than the 4RS, and interestingly, can be spec'd with a painted hood. The Taycan is offered in "Turbo" trim.
Not quite the extreme dilution we've seen of the M brand at BMW, but it's not a good trend.
I agree it's great that Porsche gives us the option. But as an enthusiast, I just hope they'll preserve the purity of the brand equity they built in the Weissach name, and RS, and Turbo etc.

I hate to break it to you, but Porsche is in the business of making money. Remember when all the 911s got turbo engines, but they still had a Turbo model (sure it's capitalized, but implies the base and S weren't turbos, but they were). Just be glad that a vent on a Porsche is still functional and not purely aesthetic unlike many other brands.
I am one of those who hate the the look of carbon hood (got non-WP 991.2 RS just cause of that reason), but went with WP for 4RS for few reasons -
1. PTS
2. The striped hood makes the carbon hood palatable.
3. Carbon airbox - the only modern Porsche (not counting 918, CGT) where you can see the engine - didn't want that to be a piece of plastic.
on 4rs I got a lot of cf for my 12k, not so much on srs(and some pieces I don't want like the secondary tail lip) so no wp which implies no pts for me, 25k saved
Seems I struck a nerve. My point is that for a U.S. market GT4 RS, “Weissach” doesn’t mean what it does for other models. There is no performance difference as other models would lead you to believe there would be. It is simply an appearance package. One that in my opinion, looks worse.
If I could get a painted hood WP 4RS with mags, check the box and take my money.
But an aesthetic package parading as a performance package…no thanks.
I wouldn't have got WP if I wasn't told I needed a bit of a spendy options package. But I think guards red SRS looks great with the semi painted hood.

Same. I am still waiting for PTS approval, albeit the center stripe makes it sufficient enough. My PTS rejection build in the wings has no WP.
The cars definitely look better with the WP, but the cost is ridiculous.
Much easier to stomach WP for me as it gave me PTS, which made it worth it.
I would have really struggled with WP otherwise. Definitely looks better on the outside though I’d prefer the interior leather dashboard of non WP.
You forgot IMO... just like every other subjective debate here... never ends. Can we get back to topic on this thread and post some non-WP RS 718 pics...
