We're the minority for sure, but stand proud and let's see some real world pictures of the NON Weissach Package GT4 RS and Spyder RS! Here's a handful of my personal favorites that I've found in my search.

Let's start with some GT4 RS pics:

I know that in certain markets you get a cage, but not in NA and of course not applicable to Spyder.

As this thread is primarily to celebrate the non-WP, I'll offer a response but not dig into which is better, etc.

Prior to the GT4 RS, the Weissach Package was available with the 918 Spyder, 991.2 GT2 RS, and 991.2 GT3 RS.

For all three, the claim from Porsche was that the WP offered enhanced performance due to lighter weight components, but a majority of the weight came from savings off magnesium wheel options, as well as the optional titanium roll cage vs steel. Only the 918 Spyder actually included additional aero pieces in carbon to further enhance dynamics. For the GT2 RS and GT3 RS, the roof in carbon saved a little bit of weight, as did the front and rear anti-roll bars and coupling rods. But the weight savings on these were really minor compared to the weight saved through the wheels and the titanium cage.

In EU, where the titanium cage for the GT4 RS is available, it's an additional cost ~$3.5k on top of the cost of the WP.

The WP for the GT2 RS, GT3 RS, and GT4 RS is an optics package, first and foremost. The Cayman and Spyder don't have a separate roof panel to swap in carbon, and consequently, the cost of the package is quite a bit cheaper as well. Even looking back at threads discussing WP for other models, no one can actually feel any difference in dynamics...it's ultimately about whether one likes visible carbon or not. And MANY don't, but some do. No one buys the WP with the pretense that it will perform better. It's carbon ****.

I'd argue that the WP for the Taycan Turbo GT is the first that actually substantively improves performance.

To bring it back on topic though, I have no problem with folks that think the WP looks ugly. Aesthetics are subjective, and choosing to go non-WP because one hates the look of the exposed carbon panel makes a lot of sense. It's great that Porsche offers it both ways.

I like Guards Red better without the exposed CF hood.

Ha! Just kidding.

Well, technically, it doesn't have WP...and is a GT4 RS.

But if there's one thing I know, non-WP owners are definitely PROUD. On the fb owners group, every post that has a non-WP build includes a long explanation of how they dislike visible CF, etc.

Non-WP looks fantastic. Super clean and classy. Love it!

I personally would not get the WP - not worth it for this car... Gentian Blue is nice with some yellow accents......

WP is definitely not worth it in the US. No titanium cage, no harnesses, etc.

My incoming SRS has WP but painted hood, I like the non-WP look, but there’s a min options requirement

Weissach Pkg applied in fashion

Been there, done that [in my 20's], and over it.

I some respects the CR intake scoops are cool for the WP, but I actually like mine without those on the guards red car. Looks more like a Ferrari with just the indentation of a scoop, NACA like opening, that is flush with the car. Would I like $14k worth of CF car ornamentation? Or spend that on bullet proof CF Surface Transforms rotors that also lighten the car by 46 pounds of unsprung weight. Of course my answer is the later. To each his own though for what you want to spend your nickels on.

Costs aside, I simply prefer the aesthetics of the non-WP cars and have been surprised by the high take rate of the WP package, which is purely superficial in the US as others have mentioned.

Choosing between PTS non Weissach or Shark Blue with Weissach on a cost basis I preferred the latter.

Why is it surprising? It’s an aesthetic option, which isn’t any different from spending 15k on PTS or even more on CXX. People just like different things. There’s no wrong choice.
