Well, pulling on that thread…

The regs could say that a *new* car with FE is ok but a *used* (ED) car with FE is an explosion hazard.

Maybe. Truth is always stranger than fiction.

In one instance the FE is guaranteed to be shipped via regulations and packaging.

In the other, the seal has been broken and it’s been in the hands of the consumer.

PAG could fix it by simply not installing the FE.

I got my early 24 Cayman GTS in late August , the fire extinguisher is mounted right in front of the passenger LWBS, and ................I am a happy camper! Have a great New Year's Day.

would this be able to fit in the glovebox? Or is there a rule that it needs to be mounted for track use?

for track use, best is to not have anything that can move around. IE empty glovebox. I highly recommend watching non sponsored videos of the Element in use prior to relying on one as a fire extinguisher

maybe the small size will let it fit in the passenger footwell net. mainly I'm looking for a simple solution without having to self install a mount.

Will need to check with my local dealer to see if they offer the OEM fire extinguisher installation

what seat option do you have? And where are you located? I’ll send you a PM as well.

I thought it was not a safety issue but related to drugs smuggling inside a "used" unit. Once it is installed it becomes used.
