I just bought one too, good deal, I hope it works as described. I wanted this because I’m pretty sure I fried my phone battery in the console, plugged in with carplay, doing nav on long drives (phone got hot, older iphone 11)…
I've been using OttoCast but not been thrilled with the reliability. I started to have freezing situations and it not connecting etc.
Please provide a comparison.
Does yours establish a Wifi connection between phone and fob same as OttoCast?

I've got one and it wouldn't connect to my CGTS 4.0 but no issues with the Carlinkit 4.
Have an android 5.0 and nothing to compare it to but connection and use work flawlessly. Only irritation is it hangs on too long when leaving the car, and sometimes connects when working on but not using the car.

carlinkit 5.0 does not include batteries. If it is still hang on after turning off the car, may the USB port be leaking? Have you tested it by phone?

Carlinkit 4.0 has received many positive reviews. If you want to use Android Auto and the car only comes with wired Carplay, then your choice is Carlinkit 4.0
USB stays active for a few min after shut down. I have the same with center console - Ottocast
Please provide a technical compare between this and Ottocast. I watched a couple reviews on youtube for this one and it seems that it too has occasional hang ups and freezing.

I am surprised that the latest Carlinkit 5.0 will not support/works on 718.
