Tire dressing

A nice way to clean the tires is using mineral spirits as advertised by Matt (starting at 28:05):
Up to now I use Tire and Rubber cleaner from ADBL (https://en.adbl.eu/produkt/adbl-tire...ubber-cleaner/), which does a great job. Once this is used up I will switch to mineral spirits, see above. For some time now, I have been struggling with allergic reactions after washing my car, despite personal protective equipment, and am now trying to reduce exposure and chemicals.
For tire dressing, I am quite satisfied with Plast Star from KochChemie. I also use that on the plastics in the wheel well.

My current product of choice: CarPro Pearl. This has withstood weeks of washing while keeping a clean matte finish.
I’ve used most of the products that have been mentioned above over the years, and have come to one conclusion; they all perform just about the same, just as long as you take the time to pre-prep the tire. Scrub the tire, wipe clean with an APC until the towel doesn’t pull anymore grime, then apply your dressing. Let the dressing soak in for 5-10 mins, then wipe off any excess. I rinse, and repeat this method every 4th wash or so.
Beware not to overdress your tires. Tire dressing + track/autoX/backroad spirited drives = FAIL.

I find a good applicator almost as important as the product. This gizmo allows me to use less product, control the area, wipe it in better.
