I think the SRS is a very appealing car, but for a much narrower set of use cases than the 4RS.

Just my opinion: having owned both a GT4 and Spyder, I actually think the latter has a wider range of use if you're not a track junkie (I am not). The Spyder flies under the radar a bit better without the big wing, so I've ended up driving it more for day to day "boring" activities. I have no issue with the roof on for bad weather or when I just want it up, and then when it's nice out roofless driving unlocks a whole new experience vs. the GT4. I also had more fun in the Spyder at a casual track day than the GT4 (open air driving at speed is exciting!).

For the same reasons, I've decided to go for the SRS instead of GT4 RS because I'll just plain drive it more. And this is from someone living in Canada (the cold part), probably the "worst" place to have a roadster. I only see benefits, and not drawbacks. It's amazing we have a choice between the two though

I have two convertibles and appreciate the open air experience. But my use often involves driving with the top down and putting the top up when I stop at a destination. Having to do that with an SRS top would be a dealbreaker for me. This is the main reason I couldn’t sell myself on the SRS.

Plus I do want to track the car, and the SRS is compromised on safety and performance compared to the 4RS.

SRS would be a Sunday drives car for me. Nice days only and always top down. Very cool but very limited use car for my needs anyway.

I'll keep my 4RS with the engine riding in the car with me.

Anyway, back on track with the topic at hand.

This is the latest post on topic

The full Production run for GT4RS is apparently scheduled to finish in April 2024, worldwide.
So I was told by a Porsche dealer principal. Suppose always dedicated by the factory, but that was his understanding.
That figure of 7000 cars was also mentioned. But we won't know the final count until the last one comes off the line.

It has all of the markings of a semi rare car from Porsche like the 7.2 RS's eventually got to. It's going to take a minimum of 5 years but probably 10 to find out. The convertible will be a smaller build number but IMO a less desirable car as most prefer coupes.
Funny. Its a Cayman, nice cayman but its not a race car nor is it that special. Its unique but not going up in value ever...

Every street car is not a race car, and is ‘just a car’. But some cars are in high enough demand that they hold value or go up in value. As the last and best Cayman ever made, I predict that the 4RS will be one of those cars.

Until someone posts a screen shot of system showing a MY25 it’s all BS. I sure hope someone posts one so everyone can move on.

Add RS to the word Cayman and things change.

Take that to the bank fellas. You heard it here first from a guy on a forum that doesn’t have a car.

Not that I want to respond to trolling but “it’s not just a caymen” and it is “that special” it is a car that we thought would not be. It has that special engine in front of the rear axel and induction air routed through the rear quarter where windows used to be. It’s a cool car and special in the sense it’s a one off for Porsche. There will be other 911s, better or different from the one before it but not another “just a Caymen” like this. My $ 0.02. I also paid adm but hope for everyone they make as much as possible so everyone has a chance to enjoy this SPECIAL car on and off track.

This is satire, right? Many builds (including mine) happening end of 24. Mine has been pushed to October.
