For the same reasons, I've decided to go for the SRS instead of GT4 RS because I'll just plain drive it more. And this is from someone living in Canada (the cold part), probably the "worst" place to have a roadster. I only see benefits, and not drawbacks. It's amazing we have a choice between the two though

Just my opinion: having owned both a GT4 and Spyder, I actually think the latter has a wider range of use if you're not a track junkie (I am not). The Spyder flies under the radar a bit better without the big wing, so I've ended up driving it more for day to day "boring" activities. I have no issue with the roof on for bad weather or when I just want it up, and then when it's nice out roofless driving unlocks a whole new experience vs. the GT4. I also had more fun in the Spyder at a casual track day than the GT4 (open air driving at speed is exciting!).

Plus I do want to track the car, and the SRS is compromised on safety and performance compared to the 4RS.

SRS would be a Sunday drives car for me. Nice days only and always top down. Very cool but very limited use car for my needs anyway.
I'll keep my 4RS with the engine riding in the car with me.
Anyway, back on track with the topic at hand.

The full Production run for GT4RS is apparently scheduled to finish in April 2024, worldwide.
So I was told by a Porsche dealer principal. Suppose always dedicated by the factory, but that was his understanding.
That figure of 7000 cars was also mentioned. But we won't know the final count until the last one comes off the line.

This guy also has no idea what he's on about. Way too early to tell on what 4 RS's will eventually sell for. Production hasn't stopped yet. It has all of the markings of a semi rare car from Porsche like the 7.2 RS's eventually got to. It's going to take a minimum of 5 years but probably 10 to find out. The convertible will be a smaller build number but IMO a less desirable car as most prefer coupes.

Every street car is not a race car, and is ‘just a car’. But some cars are in high enough demand that they hold value or go up in value. As the last and best Cayman ever made, I predict that the 4RS will be one of those cars.
